Providing adequate and timely preoperative education is beneficial in better patient outcomes including decreased anxiety, post operative problems and prolonged hospital stays.

Education and training: Our ostomy nurse specialist will give the patient detailed information about the ostomy procedure and what to expect during recovery. Patients will also receive training on how to care for their ostomy and manage any related symptoms.

Stoma marking: Prior to the surgery, the ostomy nurse specialist will mark the location of the stoma on your abdomen, to ensure it is placed in the best possible position.

Ostomy supplies: Our ostomy nurse specialist will educate the patient about the different type of ostomy pouches and any other supplies that may be needed to care for their new ostomy. Patients will also receive training on how to care for their ostomy.
